This Student Data Privacy & Protection Course is a comprehensive training program designed to educate staff and students about the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District's Student Data Protection Plan, exploring critical aspects of safeguarding student information in today's technology-rich educational environment, from legal requirements to practical implementation strategies. Through ten structured modules, participants will learn to understand the importance of student data privacy, identify the six guiding principles of STGRSD's data protection approach, recognize their specific roles and responsibilities, distinguish between different types of student data and sensitivity classifications, apply appropriate security controls, evaluate vendor agreements, implement transparent communication practices with families, respond to potential data breaches, and participate in ongoing improvement of data protection practices. Upon successful completion of all modules and the final assessment, participants will receive a DataGuard EDU certification, documenting their understanding of and commitment to student data privacy protection within the STGRSD community.
